The Yannuzzi Rounds

The Yannuzzi Rounds is a series of online educational program that provide vitreoretinal fellows and retinal specialists an opportunity to interact with and learn from leading experts in the field of retinal imaging. Retinal specialists and comprehensive ophthalmologists are also welcome to attend the virtual sessions which are presented via Zoom webinar.  The aim is to update participants on new aspects of imaging and new insights into our understanding of retinal disease.

Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi directs the virtual conferences in which retina fellows from throughout the world present diagnostic challenges that illustrate appropriate use of multimodal retinal imaging in establishing diagnoses, understanding the pathoanatomical mechanisms of disease, and guiding management for a wide range of retinal disorders.

In each session, two invited moderators from major academic centers in the US join Dr. Yannuzzi in engaging a panel of international experts in a lively discussion about each case study. Regular panelists include Drs. Anita Agarwal, Christine Curcio, Jay Duker, Lee Jampol, William Mieler, Jose Pulido, Vas Sadda, David Sarraf, Carol Shields, and Richard Spaide.

Participants will enhance their understanding of the capabilities of a variety of retinal imaging systems, including various new OCT technologies, fundus autofluorescence systems, adaptive optics, and ultra-widefield imaging. Participants will broaden their appreciation for the application of these technologies in the retinal field, and gain greater understanding of retinal conditions such as macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, inherited retinal disease, posterior uveitis, and intraocular tumors.

Sessions are recorded and available for IntRIS members by logging into this site.
